Your Support Brings Visionary Dance to Life

The 2025 SoloDuo Dance Festival was an unforgettable celebration of bold, boundary-pushing artistry. For two extraordinary nights February 13th & 14th at Dixon Place, 33 exceptional dance makers from New York, across the U.S., and around the world—Korea, Japan, China, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, England, and Switzerland—brought their visions to the stage.

Founded in 2016 by WHITE WAVE’s Artistic Director, Young Soon Kim, the SoloDuo Dance Festival has become a cornerstone of the NYC dance scene, providing a global platform for innovative and underrepresented artists. This year, in our commitment to fostering international exchange, we are proud to commission three companies from the this year’s SoloDuo Festival to present their work at the inaugural ChangMu International Dance Festival in Korea.

WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company

GIVES YOU!

Captivating performances by world-class WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company, presenting the artistic culmination of 36 years of Ms. Kim’s choreographic exploration. Art is a window through which artists share their sense of beauty with others, and the company is a vehicle to fulfill Young Soon Kim’s artistic vision which is expansive, challenging the threshold of dance, music, theater and visual art, surging forward to creating new possibilities. Ms. Kim creates works of vision and movement in reverence and awe by challenging and broadening the boundaries of dance. Her work is hailed as "exhilarating, visually stunning and emotionally rich.” For her elaborate multimedia dance-theater productions, Ms. Kim collaborates with top-artists in their respective fields, including composers/musicians, video artists, costume designers, and dramatists.

Why Your Support Matters

For over 36 years, WHITE WAVE Dance has championed diversity, equity, and artistic excellence. Led by an immigrant woman from Korea, our nine-member ensemble and 35 contracted artists come from diverse backgrounds, including people of color, LGBTQ+ artists, immigrants, differently-abled individuals, and those who have faced housing insecurity or incarceration.

Beyond our own performances, we provide vital opportunities for emerging and established artists alike. Our festivals break down economic barriers, offering career-advancing sponsorships, free PR workshops, and rehearsal space support. We prioritize partnerships with immigrant-owned small businesses and remain steadfast in our mission to create an inclusive, accessible arts ecosystem.

Your Gift Makes an Impact

WHITE WAVE’s artists, many of whom overcome financial and resource challenges, continue to create, rehearse, and perform against the odds. Your generosity makes it possible for us to:

• Deliver captivating performances by the world-class WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company, showcasing 36 years of Ms. Kim’s groundbreaking choreographic vision.
• Present premier dance festivals that celebrate innovation and artistry.
• Support artists through training, mentorship, and career development.
• Champion underrepresented voices in the arts, fostering diversity and inclusion.
• Expand accessibility to dance, ensuring that all communities can experience the power of movement.

At our festivals, the stage transforms not only into a showcase of breathtaking movement but also into a space for connection and celebration. After each performance, we gather with friends, supporters, and fellow artists to share in the joy of dance—over fine food, flowing wine, and the excitement of what’s to come.

Your contribution, no matter the size, directly fuels the creative process and sustains our mission. In an era of dwindling government funding, the support of arts champions like you is more essential than ever.

Thank you for being part of our journey—your support keeps dance alive and thriving!

With love and gratitude,
Young Soon Kim & the WHITE WAVE Team
